The reason I am doing this is because I was one of those kids in the hospital fighting cancer. I was diagnosed back in 1999 with cancer. I went through 45 weeks of chemotherapy at Childrens' Hospital of Philadelphia. After only 3 months of being done with chemo they found another tumor. I again had to go through chemotherapy and this time I had radiation too. I have now been out of the hospital for 5 years as of April 2006. It was an extremely difficult period of my life but it was made easier by all of my friends and family being by my side throughout. If I did not have them supporting me the whole time I can honestly say that I would not be alive right now. I want to make sure everyone that is fighting against this horrible disease has someone or something to give them an escape. When I didn't have a friend or family member by my bedside I used music as my way of leaving the hospital without ever leaving my bed. My goal, with your help, is to make sure that each kid at Childrens' Hospital of Philadelphia has their escape.
